VOSN - Very Olde St. Nick
Created by Marci Palatella in the late 1980s as an export brand for the Japanese market. Olde St. Nick has been bottled continuously since 1986. Originally bottled by KBD in Bardstown, with a handful being done by the Van Winkle Family at their Old Commonwealth Distillery in Lawrenceburg. Of the older releases many contain extinct source stocks such as Stitzel Weller, which no one seemed to want at the time... With most expressions falling between 94 and barrel proof these NCF gems really set the standard for super high quality bourbon. Batches were done in very small quantities with many limited to a few hundred or thousand total - Truly some of the rarest bottles of American Whiskey from the Glut Era... Since 2014 the brand has been bottled at Palatella's Preservation Distillery in Bardstown using a combination of sourced and house Pot Stilled juice, with an near religious commitment to quality.
