Very Olde St. Nick 15 year 107 proof circa 1990 Old Commonwealth Era

$8,500.00
An early bottling of the Old St. Nick Brand largely believed to bottled by Julian Van Winkle circa 1990 however this bottling carries both a Bardstown back label as well as a specific Japanese Import label that is consistent with the series of wax topped bottles Julian Van Winkle bottled for the Japanes market at the time where demand was high for well aged bourbon. It does seem more likely that the labels were printed for KBD as bottling would move over there sometime after the Stitzel Weller Distillery closed in 1992. The import label is most likely specific to bottles in 1990-1991. Most likely Stitzel Weller inside given that 15 year 107 proof Stizel Weller was being used at the time to bottle the Old Rip Van Winkle - Julian had also bottled a lot of Boone whisky during the time along with a handful of other source stocks - I guess we will have to wait and see if he tells us the story on these.
